COFFEE IS NOT JUST A DRINKING!
Talking about Coffee, people often think of it as a rather popular drinks in life. Or if you research more, you may know about the uses of the waste coffee grounds such as being used to deodorize, repel insects, as a cleaning agent, as a fertilizer or even used in beauty products, … But there is another great use of Coffee grounds that not everyone knows, which is used as a raw material to produce clothes. Yes, you hear it right, what I am referring to is Clothes made from Café Fiber.
So what is coffee fabric and what uses does it have?
Coffee yarn production technology was born in 2009, known as S.Cafe yarn, researched and developed exclusively by Singtex Company - Taiwan. After being discharged, the coffee grounds will be collected and undergone the stages of drying, oil extraction, grinding and nanozing, then will be mixed with waste polymer to form a synthetic material, from which to produce S.Cafe yarn. According to the manufacturer, each shirt made from S.Café yarn will be made from 3 coffee cups and 5 recycled plastic bottles. Thus, the use of clothes from S.Cafe yarn is to contribute to limiting the sources of non-biodegradable waste and protecting the living environment
The unique core structure and pores of Coffee grounds is the key to the functions of S.Café Fabrics. There are 4 main functions of this products are:
- Effective body odor control thanks to the ability trapping and insolating odors on the surface as they past through the fabric. This great feature is still maintained even after the clothes have been washed many times.
- Fast drying, always bring comfort to the body
- Protects against harmful UV rays thanks to the micro-perforations in the fiber that help protect the skin from the sun.
- Ice-Café, another S.Cafe technology, which helps to reduce the temperature on the skin surface by 1-2 degrees Celsius compared to the ambient temperature, bringing a cool feeling to the wearer.
With our sustainable and environmentally friendly development orientation, Viethong Denim has also launched a line of LOVE ENVIROMENT DENIM using S.Cafe fibers in accordance with customer needs.

Acid wash/mineral wash!15/11/2021
No acid is used in this process, because using acid will destroy the fabric structure completely. This is a type of wash that uses the raw materials used for the laundry process to be oxidized. Acid washing is commonly used by immersing pumice in hypochlorite, the oxidizing agent used depends mainly on the type of fabric. When working with pumice stone, the washing machine and the item to be washed must be dry. Pumice stones are soaked in bleach (sometimes potassium permanganate) and left open for a while to allow them to become gelatinous. They are then processed in the washing machine along with the clothes. The degree of influence depends on the treatment time, the dissolved concentration of the oxidant and the amount of fabric relative to the stone. After being "treated" by Acid Wash, fabrics will take on a new beauty with individual splashes of color creating an extremely liberal style. Many types of Denim fabrics of Viet Hong Textile JVC can be applied to this acid wash.
